Host Families Needed

We are looking for a family to host a young adult through the International Volunteer Exchange Program (IVEP), who would be volunteering at Dock Mennonite Academy.

Would you be willing or do you know of someone who could host?  Are you willing to expand your family temporarily to include a “big brother” to share in your normal life, church and community?

This may be for a half year or the full year. (Aug - June)  A stipend is provided to assist with expenses.

Please prayerfully consider this opportunity. You may contact Linda Souder for more information.(215-723-1196 or

Family Service Night

Over 150 parents, students, teachers & staff gathered to help pack relief kits together as a school community and learn more about life in a refugee camp during Family service night on March 23, 2017.  Students at Dock Mennonite Academy (EC-12) collected items the entire month of March for Mennonite Central Committee as well as clothing for Syrian refugees in camps in Lebanon. Other activities during family service night included tasting food that refugees might eat in refugee camps and experiencing refugee simulation activities.  A total of 101 relief kit boxes were assembled in 1 hour!  In addition, 40 huge bags of clothes, 9 large boxes of shoes and many other items were collected and sorted to give to MCC to replenish their supply.  Thanks to all who participated!

Review this information and sign up for text alerts.

Just a reminder, Dock Mennonite Academy makes its own decision regarding inclement weather closures or delays. We do not automatically follow any particular district, but review the status of many local districts and the impact on our school. We post closures and delays via text message alerts, school website, Facebook, and Schoology as soon as a decision is made. If nothing is posted, school is on time. (Click the image above for all the details.) Bus service is determined by your local district. For example, in the event that your district is opening later than Dock, you may choose to transport your child on Dock’s schedule, or use the bus. Students are not marked tardy if their district is delayed when Dock is in session.
